섬 방문 인증 이벤트에 참여할 수 있다

행정안전부는 올 여름 휴가철을 활용해 여행하기 좋은 88개 섬을 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’으로 선정했다. 누구든지 섬을 방문하고 인증 챌린지에 참여하면 다양한 경품을 탈 수 있다.

<‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’ 88개를 선정했다>

행정안전부는 국민의 섬 방문 기회를 높이고 섬의 가치를 알리기 위해 2015년부터 매년 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’을 선정해 발표하고 있다. 그동안은 20~30개 섬을 선정했으나 지난해부터는 섬의 날인 8월 8일의 의미를 담아 88개의 섬을 선정한 바, 올해도 동일한 개수를 선정했다.

올해 찾아가고 싶은 섬은 인천 교동도, 석모도 등 17개, 경기 제부도, 충남 원산도, 삽시도 등 6개, 전북 선유도, 어청도 등 7개, 전남 증도, 반월도 등 37개, 경북 울릉도, 독도 등 2개, 경남 우도, 이수도 등 14개, 제주 비양도, 가파도 등 4개이다.

가장 많이 선정된 전남에는 ‘천사의 섬’으로 불리는 신안군에서 홍도, 반월도, 박지도, 흑산도, 우이도, 도초도, 비금도, 자은도, 증도, 가거도 등 10개, 완도군에서 신지도, 조약도(약산도), 고금도, 생일도, 보길도, 금당도, 소안도, 청산도, 노화도, 여서도 등 10개가 선정되었다. 또한, 진도군 관매도, 조도, 고흥군 평일도(금일도), 해남군 임하도, 접도, 영광군 송이도, 강진군 가우도, 여수시 백야도, 안도, 손죽도, 거문도, 낭도, 하화도, 적금도, 금오도, 대경도, 목포시 외달도가 선정되었다. 전북에서는 위도, 신시도, 관리도, 장자도, 무녀도, 선유도, 어청도 등 7개소가 선정되었다.

수도권에서 접근하기 쉬운 인천, 경기, 충청지역에서도 많은 섬이 선정되었다. 경기도 석모도, 무의도, 승봉도, 소이작도, 대이작도, 자월도, 볼음도, 주문도, 동점도, 덕적도, 소청도, 대청도, 교동도, 장봉도, 모도, 신도, 시도 등 17개, 경기도 제부도, 충남 가의도, 죽도, 웅도, 삽시도, 원산도, 내난지도 등 6개가 선정되었다.

경남에서 대도, 이수도, 칠천도, 신수도, 사랑도, 대매물도, 비진도, 한산도, 우도, 연화도, 욕지도, 연대도, 비토도, 추도 등 14개, 경북 울릉도, 독도 등 2개, 제주도 비양도, 추자도, 가파도, 우도 등 4개가 선정되었다.

<여행 정보는 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다>

선정된 섬의 상세한 여행 정보는 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬 누리집’에서 확인할 수 있다. 만약 당신이 찾아가고 싶은 섬으로 홍도를 검색하면, 이 섬은 전남 신안에 있고 현재 날씨와 기온 등(맑음, 기온: 17℃, 풍속: 6.1m/s, 강수확률: 0%, 습도: 95%)을 확인할 수 있다.

홈페이지에서 대표 관광자원을 검색할 수 있는데, 홍도에는 깃대봉, 해녀포차, 유람선투어, 원추리정원, 홍도10경이 있다. 교통편, 숙박시설 등 인프라도 확인할 수 있다. 홍도의 경우 여객선을 이용할 수 있고, 숙박시설은 20개 이상이며, 편의 및 주거시설로 음식점(식당)과 의료시설이 있고, 행사 및 축제는 원추리축제(7월예정), 불볼락축제(9월예정) 등이 있다. 여객선은 목포에서 홍도까지 160분이 소요된다.

홈페이지에는 섬에 대한 간략한 소개가 있다. 예컨대, 홍도는 서쪽의 노을 때문에 섬이 붉게 보인다 하여 이 같은 이름이 붙여졌다. 전라남도 신안군 흑산면에 위치한 홍도는 ‘한 폭의 동양화’라 불리는 해안 절경으로 유명하며, 섬 전체가 천연기념물이자 다도해해상국립공원에 포함된 천혜의 생태섬이다. 바위마다 이름이 붙을 정도로 경관이 뛰어나며, 홍도 1구 선착장에서 출발하는 유람선 코스는 필수 관광 코스로 손꼽힌다.

<섬 방문은 여객선 예약을 잘해야 한다>

섬 여행 정보는 누리집에서 확인할 수 있지만, 내가 섬에 가고 싶다면 배편을 잘 알아야 한다. 해당 섬으로 가는 배가 어디에서 언제 출발하는지, 하루 몇 편이고, 소요시간은 얼마나 되는지, 요금은 얼마이고 예약을 어떻게 하는지를 확인해야 한다.

예컨대, 홍도로 가는 배편은 주로 목포항에서 출발한다. 배편 시간은 계절과 날씨에 따라 변동될 수 있으므로, 여행 전에 반드시 최신 시간표를 확인하는 것이 중요하다. 목포에서 홍도로 가는 배는 오전 7:50, 오전 8:50, 오전 9:50, 오전 10:20이고, 홍도에서 목포로 오는 배는 오전 10:30, 오전 11:10, 오전 12:10, 오후 1:00, 오후 3:10(선박 회사 및 요일에 따라 시간 변동 가능)이다. 이 시간표는 참고용이며, 정확한 시간은 해당 선박 회사의 홈페이지나 예매 사이트를 통해 확인한다. 특히 성수기나 주말에는 배편이 조기 매진될 수 있으므로 미리 확인하는 것이 좋다.

배편 가격은 출발 항구, 선박 종류, 할인 적용 여부에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 예컨대, 목포에서 홍도까지 일반적인 편도 요금은 성인은 약 40,000원~50,000원(평일 기준, 주말 및 공휴일 할증 가능), 소아는 성인 요금의 약 50%이다. ‘바다로’와 같은 해양 관광 할인 패스를 이용하면 더욱 저렴하게 배편을 이용할 수 있다.

배편은 인터넷, 전화, 현장 예매를 통해 예약할 수 있다. 홍도의 경우 주말이나 성수기에는 미리 예약하는 것이 필수이다. 인터넷 예약은 주요 여객선 예약 사이트(예: 남해고속, 가보고싶은섬 등)를 통해 홍도 배편을 검색하고 예약할 수 있다. 목포항 여객선 터미널 홈페이지에서도 출항일 하루 전까지 예약이 가능하다. 해당 선박 회사에 직접 전화하거나 해운조합에서 위탁 운영하는 예약 전화(02-6096-2266)를 이용하여 배편을 예약할 수도 있다. 여객선 터미널에서 직접 표를 구매할 수도 있다. 특히 승선 당일에는 인터넷 예매가 불가능한 경우가 많으니, 미리 예매하는 것이 좋다.

<섬 방문 인증 이벤트를 진행한다>

행정안전부는 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’으로 선정된 88개 섬에 대한 관심을 높이고 방문을 활성화하기 위해 5월 29일부터 8월 24일까지 88일 동안 방문 인증 이벤트도 진행한다. 우선, 걷기 등 신체활동을 확인하는 모바일앱인 ‘워크온’ 인증 챌린지로 섬 방문을 인증하면 참여 횟수에 따라 다양한 경품을 준다. ‘워크온 챌린지’는 시민이 스마트폰에 ‘워크온’ 앱을 설치하고 실행하면 된다.

또한 개인 사회적 관계망(SNS)에 섬 방문 사진과 함께 섬 이름이나 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’ 등 지정된 해시태그를 포함해 게시하고 절차에 따라 응모하면 경품을 지급하는 프로그램도 진행한다. 필수 해시태그는 #제6회섬의날, #찾아가고싶은섬, #행정안전부, #한국섬진흥원, #섬이름이다. 이벤트 당첨자는 오는 9월 중 개별 안내할 예정으로, 자세한 이벤트 내용도 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬 누리집’에서 확인하면 된다.

<섬의 날 행사를 완도에서 개최한다>

올해로 6회째를 맞이하는 섬의 날 행사는 오는 8월 7일부터 10일까지 치유의 섬으로 알려진 전남 완도에서 개최한다. 이번 행사는 ‘천천히 돌아보고 섬’이라는 주제로 진행하는데, 특히 섬의 날 기념식과 함께 축하콘서트, 체험전시관 운영, 섬 걷기 등 다채로운 연계 행사를 펼칠 예정이다.

이를 위해 행정안전부는 지난 5월 19일 완도 출신 배우 위하준과 가수 하현우·안성훈·트리플에스, 요리연구가 오세득·정지선을 섬의 날 홍보대사로 위촉한 바, 홍보대사들은 행사 기간에 완도를 찾아 다양한 행사에 참여할 예정이다. 여름 휴가를 계획할 때 ‘찾아가고 싶은 섬’과 각종 행사를 참고하기 바란다.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security selected 88 islands that are good for traveling during the summer vacation season as the "island you want to visit." Anyone who visits the island and participates in the certification challenge can win various prizes.

<88 'islands you want to visit' were selected>

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security has been selecting and announcing "islands you want to visit" every year since 2015 in order to increase the opportunity for people to visit the island and promote the value of the island. Until now, 20 to 30 islands have been selected, but since last year, 88 islands have been selected to mean August 8, the day of the island, and the same number has been selected this year.

There are 17 islands I want to visit this year, including Incheon Gyodong Island and Seokmodo Island, six including Jebu Island in Gyeonggi Province, Wonsan Island in South Chungcheong Province, seven including Seonyudo Island and Eocheong Island in North Jeolla Province, 37 including Jeungdo Island and Banwol Island in South Jeolla Province, two islands including Ulleung Island and Dokdo in North Gyeongsang Province, 14 including Udo Island and Isu Island in South Gyeongsang Province, and four islands including Biyangdo Island and Gapado Island in Jeju.

In South Jeolla Province, 10 were selected from Sinan County, which is called the "Island of Angels," including Hongdo, Banwoldo, Park Ji-do, Heuksando, Uido, Docho, Bigeumdo, Jaeundo, Jeungdo, and Gageodo, and 10 from Wando County, including Shingeodo, Geopdo (Yaksando), Gogeumdo, Birthday, Bogildo, Geumdangdo, Soando, Soando, Cheongsando, Agingdo, and Yeoseo. In addition, seven places were selected: Gwanmae-do, Jodo in Jindo County, Jojo, weekday Island in Goheung County (Geumildo), Imha-do in Haenam-gun, Pupdo in Yeonggwang County, Gaedo in Gangjin County, Gaedo in Gangjin County, Baekyado in Yeosu City, Ando, Sonjukdo, Geomundo, Nangdo, Hamando, Chosangdo, Geumodo, Daegyeongdo, and Oedaldo in Mokpo County. Seokmo Island, Muui Island, Seungbong Island, Soijak Island, Daeijak Island, Jowol Island, Bolum Island, Jumun Island, Tie Island, Deokjeok Island, Socheong Island, Daecheong Island, Gyodong Island, Jangbong Island, Modo Island, Shindo Island, Sindo Island, Gyeonggi Province, Jebu Island, Jukdo Island, Ungdo Island, Sapsido Island, Wonsan Island, and Naenan Island were selected.

In Gyeongnam, 14 were selected, including Daedo, Isu Island, Chilcheon Island, Shinsudo Island, Sarangdo Island, Daemaeuldo Island, Bijin Island, Hansando Island, Udo Island, Yeonhwado Island, Yokjido Island, Yeondo Island, Bitodo Island, and Chodo Island, 2 Gyeongsangbuk-do Ulleungdo Island and Dokdo Island, and 4 Jeju Island Biyangdo Island, Chujado Island, Gapado Island, and Udo Island.

Detailed travel information on the selected island can be found in the 'Island I Want to Visit' website. If you search Hongdo Island as the island you want to visit, you can check the current weather and temperature (clear, temperature: 17℃, wind speed: 6.1 m/s, precipitation probability: 0%, humidity: 95%).

You can search for representative tourism resources on the website, and Hongdo Island has Gitdaebong Peak, Haenyeo Pocha, Cruise Ship Tour, Wonchuri Garden, and Hongdo 10 Views. You can also check infrastructure such as transportation and accommodation facilities. In the case of Hongdo Island, passenger ships are available, there are more than 20 accommodation facilities, restaurants (restaurants) and medical facilities for convenience and residential facilities, and events and festivals include the Wonchuri Festival (planned in July) and the Bulbolak Festival (planned in September). The ferry takes 160 minutes from Mokpo to Hongdo Island.

There is a brief introduction to the island on the website. For example, Hongdo Island was named because the island looked red due to the sunset in the west. Hongdo Island, located in Heuksan-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, is famous for its beautiful coastal scenery called "A Little Oriental Painting," and the entire island is a natural monument and a natural ecological island included in the Dadohae Maritime National Park. The scenery is excellent enough to be named after each rock, and the cruise ship course from Hongdo 1st Dock is considered an essential tourist course.

You can find island travel information on the website, but if you want to go to an island, you need to be familiar with the ship. You need to check where and when the ship leaves for the island, how many flights a day, how long it takes, how much is the fare, and how you make a reservation.

For example, ships to Hongdo usually depart from Mokpo Port. Since ship times can vary depending on the season and weather, it is important to check the latest timetable before traveling. Ships from Mokpo to Hongdo are 7:50 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 9:50 a.m., and 10:20 a.m., and ships from Hongdo to Mokpo are 10:30 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 12:10 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:10 p.m. This timetable is for reference only, and the exact time can be checked through the ship company's website or reservation site. It is a good idea to check in advance, especially during peak seasons or weekends, ships may sell out early.

The price of the ship may vary depending on the port of departure, the type of ship, and whether the discount is applied. For example, the typical one-way fare from Mokpo to Hongdo is from 40,000 won to 50,000 won for adults (weekdays, weekends, and holidays surcharges available) and about 50 percent of the adult fare for children. Marine tourism discount passes such as "Oceanro" make it more affordable to use shipping.

Ships can be booked online, over the phone, or through on-site reservations. In Hongdo, it is essential to make reservations on weekends or during peak seasons. For Internet reservations, you can search for and book Hongdo ships through major passenger reservation sites (for example, Namhae Express, islands you want to visit). Reservations can also be made at the Mokpo Port Ferry Terminal one day before the departure date. You can also make reservations by calling the relevant ship company directly or by using the reservation phone (02-6096-2266) commissioned by the shipping association. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the ferry terminal. In particular, since online reservations are often not possible on the day of boarding, it is recommended to make reservations in advance.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security will also hold an 88-day visit certification event from May 29 to August 24 to increase interest in 88 islands selected as "islands you want to visit." First of all, if you authenticate your visit to the island with the "Walk-on" certification challenge, a mobile app that checks physical activities such as walking, you will receive various prizes depending on the number of participations. The "Walk-on Challenge" requires citizens to install and run the "Walk-on" app on their smartphones.

In addition, a program will be held on social networking sites that includes designated hashtags such as island names or "islands you want to visit" along with photos of visits to the island, and give prizes if you apply according to procedures. The required hashtags are #6th Island Day, #IslandYou Want to Visit, #Ministry of Public Administration and Security, #Korea Island Promotion Agency, and #IslandName. Winners of the event will be guided individually in September, and details of the event can be found on the "Island You Want to Visit" website.

The Island Day event, which marks its sixth anniversary this year, will be held in Wando, Jeollanam-do, known as the Healing Island, from August 7 to 10. The event will be held under the theme of "Looking Slowly and Island," especially with the Island Day celebration, various related events such as a celebratory concert, an experience exhibition hall operation, and island walking.

To this end, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security appointed Wi Ha-joon, an actor from Wando, singers Ha Hyun-woo, Ahn Sung-hoon, and triplees, and culinary researchers Oh Se-deuk and Jung Ji-sun as ambassadors for Island Day on May 19, and the ambassadors will visit Wando and participate in various events during the event.
